This program provides in-person instruction only.
The Pest Control program prepares individuals for a career in pest control management. The student will receiveinstruction on safety equipment, personal protective equipment, toxicity, hazards, pesticide formulations,classifications, symptoms of pesticide poisoning, heat stroke, chemical applications, handling and applyingpesticides, labels, rodents, bed bugs, flies, ants, gnats, sanitation, eco-friendly products, food safety, rules andregulations, bees/wasp, termites, practical application techniques and equipment, entrepreneurship, and licensinginformation. Students receive test preparation for the State Applicator and Pest Field Rep , Branch II Pest FieldRep, Branch III Termite Rep and Agriculture certification exams. They also receive Bird RemediationCertification. Graduates receive several certificates authorizing them to do work in the field of pest control.

The order the rules set out starts at the center rather than at the school. Before a center can find somebody eligible for training services it has to gather enough to decide, at a minimum through an interview, evaluation or assessment and career planning.
