UCLA extensions certificate programs are designed for enrollees to improve and increase their skills in a particular area, or explore a new career in a different field. Each certificate program is a sequence of courses in a specialized field that builds both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, moving in complexity from basics to more advanced topics, concepts, and practical challenges. Courses are taught by highly regarded practitioners who are currently working in their field of specialization or are professors at UCLA and other colleges and universities. Candidates successfully completing a Certificate program are awarded a certificate bearing the seal of the University of California. Students who complete their curriculum with an ended GPA of 3.5 or higher will have the notation earned with distinction posted to their transcript and printed on their certificates. When compared to other Statewide UC Extension course costs, UCLAs extensions certificate programs do not exceed the market average by more than 15%.
