Program details
This is a hybrid or blended program providing both in-person and online instruction.
The associate in science degree at DVC in civil design drafting technology provides students with the technical and analytical skills needed for employment in the field of civil engineering drafting. The program prepares individuals to apply engineering principles and technical skills in support of civil engineers engaged in designing and executing public works projects such as highways, dams, bridges, tunnels and other facilities. For example, civil drafters may work on any of the aforementioned projects and prepare, interpret and revise topographic and/or relief maps using computer aided drafting (CAD). Through both academic and laboratory study, students gain practical skills needed for entry into the job market.
