This program provides in-person instruction only.
This is a 1000 classroom hour course that leads to becoming a licensed barber. Students are trained in theory and practical on how to perform the practical and written operations to pass the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology State Board Examination. Technical instruction shall mean instruction by demonstration, lecture, classroom participation, or examination; practical operation shall mean the actual performance by the student of a complete service on another person or on a mannequin. The course of instruction in the practical phases of barbering required for a student enrolled in a 1,000-hour course shall include training in basic hair-cutting and in hair-styling of all textures of hair.This barbering course teaches students how to cut, style, and care for hair, skin, and nails. Students also learn business skills, health and safety practices, and how to provide facials and beard trims.
