Program details
This is a hybrid or blended program providing both in-person and online instruction.
Hybrid program provides graduates with the basic front office (administrative) & back office (clinical assisting) skills necessary to qualify for entry-level positions in a variety of out-patient medical facilities. Students will learn medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, phlebotomy, medical office management, assisting with diagnostic procedures & administration of medications. Work-site learning through an externship in a medical facility is a component of this course (240 hours). Program curriculum prepares students to immediately enter the workplace, and with the knowledge needed to achieve national certifications offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants or the National Healthcareer Association once required work experience is obtained. Students take national certification exams to enhance employment opportunities upon graduation.
