This program provides in-person instruction only.
This course has been custom designed by a physician to meet the needs of todays medical offices, clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. Our program utilizes current equipment, textbooks, and other learning tools. This program provides the graduate with all the skills needed to be proficient in all aspects of the medical office with an emphasis on clinical skills needed to assist the physician. Students will learn preparing patients for exams, assisting in minor surgical procedures, taking vitals, drawing blood, performing basic laboratory tests, patient charting, history taking, instrument sterilization techniques, maintaining an inventory of supplies, medical terminology, anatomy and medical law and ethics will be covered. The student will learn telephone techniques, appointment scheduling and message taking. Specialized medical software will be utilized to enhance the students ability to find a position in a facility using modern charting and recordkeeping systems. They will learn to record the patients health information as well as learn the apt scheduling module. A course in CPR and first aid is included. Graduates with a passing score of 75% or better will receive a certificate authorizing them to work in the medical field. They will be qualified to obtain an entry level position in a variety of healthcare facilities.
