This program provides in-person instruction only.
The Security Guard-Advanced Private Security course meets all requirements for Department of Consumer Affairs skill training course for security guards (Guard Card). Includes powers to arrest/arrest procedure, lawful force, search & seizure, terrorism awareness, public relations, observation & documentation, communication, and criminal/civil liability. Weapons training covers .38 cal, .40 cal, 9mm (optional .45 cal) and permit. Also includes baton, chemical agent (OC pepper spray), and self defense.School security (SB 1626), firearm permit, baton permit, first-aid and CPR certificates will be awarded upon successful completion.State certification: Guard Card, Baton and Weapons permits.

The order the rules set out starts at the center rather than at the school. Before a center can find somebody eligible for training services it has to gather enough to decide, at a minimum through an interview, evaluation or assessment and career planning. Referring a person to the provider they have chosen and setting up the account both come after that, and both are the center's to do — the account is a payment agreement with the training provider, and it is the provider that is paid through it.
