Program details
This program provides in-person instruction only.
This competency-based Apprenticeship program begins with 192 hours of related hands-on instruction. Participants gain skills and abilities around barista workplace etiquette, technical knowledge and skills relating to food safety and sanitation, equipment usage and troubleshooting, coffee knowledge, beverage making, service and production. Upon graduation, participants continue their apprenticeship on the job until demonstrating competencies. Successful participants will receive stack-able credentials including Certified Food Handler Certification, Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Coffee Skills Certificate, Industry Recognized HTA Certificate of Completion.Students may also receive US Department of Labor Certificate of Completion of a Registered Apprenticeship Program for demonstrating additional competencies resulting from on the job learning component.
