Program details
This program provides in-person instruction only.
Studio Production Technician students learn industry-recognized graphics applications as well as video editing software in preparation for jobs such as video editor, graphic artist, motion graphics artist, post-production editor, logo creator, camera operator, production assistant, etc. It is also available via distance education and hybrid models with training on how to use Zoom and Canvas LMS. Students first become familiar with the Apple operating system. Then, through self-paced instruction, they learn Adobe Photoshop for photo editing and art creation, Adobe Illustrator for logos and business graphics, Adobe After Effects for exciting motion graphics and bringing graphic items like text and shapes to life. After learning Adobe Premiere Pro, students edit one of the VACE student-produced TV shows which is then aired on Venturas own CAPS-TV. Students also learn TV studio production principles, such as lighting for different scenes and proper camera angles audio techniques including mixing multiple channels on a digital mixing board and placing wireless lavaliere microphones on talk show hosts and guests. Students also function as directors or producers in VACEs fully equipped production facility.Students attend career workshops that teach soft-skills, resume writing, job searching, and interview techniques, including conducting and filming a mock interview, then providing feedback to help prepare for the real thing. Our in-house career placement team offers support and guidance as the students conduct their job searches, look for internship opportunities and then provide follow-up support to help them keep their new jobs.
