Program details

This program provides in-person instruction only.

This competency-based course trains students to give basic nursing care in the home setting. Emphasis is given to the philosophy of nursing, safety principles in the home, and infection control methods as used by the home health aide. Nutrition in relation to maintenance of health is stressed. Integrated throughout the program are methods for meeting the social and psychological needs of the clients. The competencies in this course are aligned with the California high school academic content standards and the career technical education model curriculum standards.
